Abstract
Renal arterial embolization was induced experimentally in 60 rabbits using autologous blood clot for evaluation of embolic effect of autologous blood clot. Microvascular changes were studied angiographically, microangiographically and histopathologically.
The results were as follows:
1. Microangiography is a valuable method for observation of microvascular changes in renal arterial embolization.
2. The microangiographic findings of renal arterial embolization were arterial occlusion, irregular arrangement, spiralling, dilatation, narrowing and collateral vessel formation.
3. Recanalizations of embolized vessels were visualized in renal arteriograph but not complete in microangiograph.
4. Collateral vessel formations were visualized in 10 cases by arteriography, but demonstrated in all cases by microangiography.
It was considered that autologous blood clot is effective embolic material in renal bleeding after renal trauma or renal biopsy.
